Our founder, Zach Rose, began his journey recruiting for general and specialty construction roles in Southern California, where the fight for top talent was highly competitive. The biggest lesson learned was realizing how crucial hiring the highest caliber candidates is for winning more projects and growing companies.
While working at a contingent recruitment firm, Zach witnessed the dark side of recruiting: recruiters lacked basic construction knowledge, would market the same candidate to multiple clients and thus create a bidding war. Even worse, he saw recruiters manipulate & misrepresent candidate information to fill roles for a commission rather than commit to filling strategic positions with the right person, and even saw recruiters stealing candidates from their own clients to fill newer positions.
